Theatremonkey book becomes a STAR

December 4, 2009

They’ve given the book a very nice piece on their website at STAR are The Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers, and as their write-up says, is an Affiliate member – and very proud to be the first independent listings website to join them.

STAR is the leading self-regulatory body for the UK entertainment ticketing industry, operating within guidelines supported by, amongst others, VisitBritain, VisitLondon, the Society of London Theatre and the Office of Fair Trading. In other words, buying from their members is an assurance of genuine tickets, fair prices and high standards of service – always. “Tickets With Confidence” as their slogan says. That’s also why they got almost three pages, with full details of their West End ticket selling members, in the book.

In other news, there is further evidence that becoming an author does strange things to the mind. I’m still checking Amazon’s sales rank more carefully than I’d like, and yesterday actually ventured into a bookshop to try and find the book keeping mine off the number 1 spot in the “Stagecraft” category. Having found it, I’d appreciate somebody telling me why photographs of Dita Von Teese in (and practically out of) her ancient undercrackers / giving beauty tips is more appealing than a beautifully printed set of London Seating plans and advice on how to have a great evening out.
